Before-signature commitment checklist

Ten questions to ask before a non-standard customer promise leaves the company.

Open tool. No registration required. Use it, print it and share it internally.

1. Authority

Who is allowed to make this exact promise at this level of exposure?

2. Evidence

Which important statements are facts, which are assumptions, and what is still missing?

3. Price & margin

Does the expected margin still work after implementation and service cost?

4. Cash

Do payment terms, milestones and acceptance criteria create working-capital drag?

5. Scope

Is custom work clearly priced, owned and bounded?

6. Implementation

Can the timeline be delivered with the capacity and dependencies available?

7. SLA

What does failure cost, and is the service level realistic from day one?

8. Security & data

Are security, privacy and data commitments supported by current capability?

9. Termination & liability

What downside is being accepted if the relationship changes or fails?

10. Interaction

Do individually acceptable terms become risky when combined?

If different teams answer different questions, add one final question: who has judged the combined commitment?
